Brutal, tribal justice in Afghanistan

On his knees, Nawroz prays. He is a condemned man about to die in a brutal way.

His crime: The killing of his lover's husband.

The judge: A local warlord in Kand, Afghanistan.

The executioner: The victim's father.

A mobile phone video captured the grisly scene.

Victor, so when a person asks for forgiveness and shows repentance God will forgive that person, but as for you, will you show no mercy as in Islamic law and go against God's will?

I'm sorry, but America has grown so soft, and justice has become so elusive (at every class level), that I embrace this justice with all my heart. America is dieing fast, and the house cleaning required to turn us around is not possible under the system of laws that we've built. Our laws were constructed for a different "breed" of citizen and if we don't adapt then we deserve the spectacular collapse that is within site.

Agree with you that we have grown soft but murder and brutality will never be right.

so our resident troll, by his callous comments, is sending the message that this is OK.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Brutality and murder, no matter the "excuse" is NEVER right. Never. "Tribal custom" does not justify this contemptible behavior. As if this needs to be explained. But barbarity and cruelty persist.....

Our troll really thinks this kind of thing is OK! Yet another reason to resist islam and fight rather than let them ruin (er...."rule") the world. What a horrible thing that would be............

thanks! made my point for me.....sort of reinforced it.

Wish it would communicate rather than just spew bigoted blather but that's all we have come to expect from our troll.

        How limited.

and we assume from your oddly worded posts that you are supporting murder. Yes or no?

That would be a "yes." You (very sloppily) agree that murder is good.

(wonder why this fool's rants prevent it from clear cut, direct communication? I guess the rants keep it stirred up enough so that it can make excuses for murder,.......sort of like a war dance before going into action....something like that....)

wait, so everyone who doesn't agree with you is some hoto or is under the influence of cannabis? no wonder you choose to post arguments on a insignificant CNN blog. you must remember that if you are utilizing these esoteric concepts, that nobody is going to comprehend them the way you would like, not even your fellow..... it must work out very nice when your beliefs fall in line with what you believe is the truth cough cough, most religious people. i feel sorry for those people, myself included, who feel compelled to return to this blog just to provide some sort of response to your posts, and in doing so waste their time. did i tell you about how i was walking and i realized that if you juxtapose various historical objects the result will be a concept or shape i can use against you in an arguement? ha. if anyone's paying, it's you for wasting your precious time trying to coerce others into believing what you do. why, out of all things, a cnn blog? go find some religious blog and spam/comment there. There, you will find people who are actually willing to argue with you, not people who a) dont come back b) think you are annoying (they have every ...right... to do so). that's what's beyond me.

the question of whether humans need a preacher or even any autoratative figure is similar to many i have about islam and just about any other set of beliefs. the absolute is not up to humans. at best, even at best, we are still speculating, using justification. in this case, it is less more so pragmatic for practice as many researches of sciences prove to our development. but that aside, everything you use to justify/substantiate/support your claims depend on certain material whose history is intertwined within the partial esoteric concepts you post, such as linguistic monogenesis of latin. and, in context, everything pieces together- however, languages have shared influence over long periods of time. the moors in spain, the turkish/mongolian area clans, native americans as you cite, chinese/indians/persians, and many more presences have contributed to the similarity in langauges. tracing these is difficult to do, and you are relying on some basic pattern associated with other beliefs you hold, then you proceed to berate people regarding the first line of this paragraph. of course you can cite islamic linguil influence, such as that which occured to Spanish. the articles in spanish do share relation to arabic because of the influence over it! and of course, it is a decendent language. but, to measure a language on a scale of corruption? even all arabs don't speak arabic the same; but we obviously do live in a world where communication has worked. honestly, if you points are this deep, i do suggest to you what I did in my previous post, finding a better forum to \defend\ your thoughts.

well, by your statement about preachers, you can conclude that you are yourself a preacher – you hold certain beliefs which you are proclaiming, sharing, i doubt you even more, since you brought age into the matter. "i think i am old enough" to tell what? age is not a pure reflection of knoledge. environment/setting/influences are, however. there is more complexity to life and physics than what you convey however, packaged, and it is in contradiction to what humans have worked with; it is thought, belief, different from science, existance. besides, you seem to unneccesarily antagonize that doesn't float your boat, so why shouldn't others?

ARE INDIANS UBER TERRORISTS OR WHAT???? Forget the GDP, focus on these murder statistics.
In India, millions of girls are strangled, slowly starved or simply tossed in the trash. Moreover, in India, at least 1,370 girls are aborted every day. As a comparison, some 250 Indians die every day in road accidents. Terrorists killed about six people, on an average, every day in 2009. In the last two decades of economic progress, 10 million girls have died as such in India.
Indians have killed more human beings (girls particularly) than Al Qaeda and Talibans put together.

Pakistan and India have to be the most argumentative, dramatic, countries that exist side by side. Both of them have their faults and wrongdoings. But of course, anyone from a particular side will insult the other side, and often, will go into an irritating diatribe highlighting certain pros and cons. When you talk about Al-Qaeda not being responsible for all those deaths and or actions, go look at all the branches of Al-Qaeda, spread throughout the entire world. If you have recently followed CNN, and do so continuously (disgusting), then you will know that they have been talking about a serious on-going example, the result of a Al-Qaeda faction. Furthermore, you have made an unfair comparison in statistics. You may as well compare apples to celery. Although, I know that members from both neighboring countries will do their best to have their way.

Right, krm1007. India does need to have the Maoists there take over since that's the only way the Indian people will fare better than they do right now. Democracy doesn't and has never worked well in India and that's all there is to it!

you have no idea about naxals/naxalites or how they operate, do you? most pakistanis/jihad favor naxalites (maoist likes) because of the fact that a) naxals are funded by pakistan and china, and b) naxals are pro-islamic radical groups, like L-e-t, or even mini-jihad branches. under maoism, indian people, along with other countries, would fare worse. when you say democracy hasn't worked, that is a claim you have to further support. many things don't work in india. as a nation, india has never been, really united. it has remained separate, since its isolation from the british.

you may as well make some claim as: "northern countries (europe/n.a) will continue to develop individually because they are evolved civilizations, or how northerners are genetically superior" while i might agree with the earlier, you cannot back this up, other than proof that in general, norther-more countries are better off. they are usually the countries that assist (forget debt, debt is not a measure of advancement, rather procrastination usually).

This kind of justice in Afghanistan has been around long before the advent of Islam so if any of these right-wing idiots here try to blame the Taliban, just ignore them for they don't understand Afghan history. Actually during the 1980's the Communists tried to put a stop to it but were finally defeated in June 1992.
