U.S. welcomes decision to remove ex-Taliban from sanctions list

Kabul, Afghanistan - The United States on Thursday said it welcomes a U.N. decision to remove sanctions against 14 former Taliban leaders in what is perhaps the latest signal of its willingness to reconcile with militants who break ties with al Qaeda.

"We recognize and welcome the efforts made by the High Peace Council to work towards peace, stability and reconciliation generally and its contributions to the July 15 decision," the U.S. Embassy in Kabul said in a written statement.

it is just the usa game how to catche other Taliban and kill them, then removing their names from blacklisting , and soon it would be better if Karzai be blacklisting by usa,

Hey code talker, have you talked with Jesus lately? Do you know He is the only way to receive the Holy Spirit? He tells us if we believe in Him we everlasting life. i ALWAYS Wondered how many people truly receive the Holy Spirit and truly do their best to walk in life the way Jesus did?

a shameful evasion. You owe more than you know to Code Talkers aka the Dineh.

Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Peleliu, Iwo Jima: the Navajo code talkers took part in every assault the U.S. Marines conducted in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. They were a small band of warriors who created an unbreakable code from the ancient language of their people and changed the course of modern history.

You are giving too much importance to the code talking. The real gain was made when the intelligence deciphrated the German code talking.

        wrong again. last word syndrome.

there was a Pacific theater, as well as the European. the Dineh have never been appreciated for their significant and history changing contributions.

as a "community" I have never heard of an equivalent contribution by the islamic crowd to current history. at a minimum they were collaborators with the Nazis.

I know you will correct me here. We await your enlightened discourse.

not everything revolves around the whims of the murderous islamic conclave. there are many other things in the world beyond your limited, bigoted agenda.

Code – I did not say there was not a pacific theater. I said that you are overstimating the importance of the code talking in the WWII.
Finally, you did not hear Islam contribution as you are ignorant, but this is not a proof of their absence.

so tell us about patriotic contributions made by the islamics to America's success in any venue.

telling us to look it up or that we are stupid proves that there were no positive contributions if you cannot cite any.

I van only suggest you to study some books, (not google on internet, as it is not the same thing).
Writings of Geber, Leibniz, Newton, Dante Alighieri, Boccaccio, and about the origin of the Masonry.

you are lazy and ineffectual........no information about patriotic islamic contributions because there were none. Invoking the Masons is irrelevant.
Geber, Leibniz, Newton, Dante Alighieri, and Boccaccio were not islamic scholars in service to American patriotism. (Which was the original point, I believe.....)

Code – ignorant ! I told you to study ! Contrary to your opinion, Geber was a muslim scholar. Of course they could not have any relation with USA wich did not exist yet, but George Washingto was a Free Mason, so do not tell that Masonry was irrelevant, IDIOT.

so tell us precisely how islam and Free Masonry are connected. islam did not invent it.

You have to study the origin of Masonry from good books. The sources were the ermetical alchemic tradition, with christian jews and Islamic components. For istance the masonry of Scottish ritual in the highest 3 grades among the 33 grades of his jerarchy shows the same command structure of the Sufi muslims (the Qutb with 2 imam) as well as the structure of the chinese command triad (emperor and 2 mentors). This triad is a function of the descending (avataric) realization.
The Eagle used as symbol has strict connection with Islam as symbol of the Holy Spirit (ar-Ruhu-l-ilahi). and so on....

Read both my comments, one following this entire article and one that is on July 21st at 9:58 am on the blog HUGE POPPY SEED CONFISCATION IN AFGHANISTAN!

    July 23, 2011 at 4:15 pm | Report abuse |

This finally USA realized that Afghanistan invasion was a wrong decision. It was a wrong decision as non of the Afghans were part of 9/11 attack. Any way history has been repeated once again on Afghan soil and it has been proved that Afghans can never be won by the guns and no invader, how much strong it is will have to surrender before the will and patriotism of Afghans. Now USA and entire West should realize that they have destroyed Afghanistan for their global strategic designs and now it is a time to reconstruct and rehabilitate all Afghans if they they wish to live in peace at their homes. This Afghan blunder has destabilized world peace which can be restored through generous non military assistance. Afghanistan is a corridor between the East and Western world therefore peace and progress here is peace and progress of the world. Taliban were never terrorists but they were made by the wrong decision of BUSH. Alqaida is US brainchild which has no relevance with this region or its people therefore USA now must end this evil game the way they have created to find justification for occupation of Afghanistan. Now world has changed and military power is no more a qualification for becoming a super power rather it is a strong economy which has made CHINA the future super power. So it is a time for USA to return to their national ideals when their founding fathers had advised to avoid wars and alliance politics and prefer trade with other nations to make the world a better place for coming generfations.

You know god's words from bad translations in english. Jesus did not speak english did not support democracy, and did not authorized anyone to use violence. He told to pay tax to the evil emperor Caesar. Today he would order to pay tax to Saddam, ghaddafi or Assad too.
