CNN's Phil Black reports from Afghanistan on the outrage over the government's plans to take over women's shelters.
IF YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND LOOK THE WEBSITE OF THE REVOLUTIONARY WOMEN OF AFGHANISTAN AT
It is clear that the Taliban do not believe and respect women and their affiliated too,
I am not saying which culture is right or wrong, all cultures have their own characteristics, which could be acceptable for the people and not, but what is Taliban and some those who affiliated with Taliban are doing the brutal things against women in Afghanistan and Pakistan, they think that the women just should sit in the home and do the house chores, women can be a doctor, engineer, teacher etc, though the god is saying, learning education is for both male and female it means if the male can be a doctor, engineer working outside of the house then why women should do that,
One thing more every country has its own regulations I respect all, and fortunately in Afghanistan the women is following the regulations that given by the law to them, but most of time have seen that in tribal areas and where the Taliban have there save heavens the women have lived under the violence and brutality of Taliban. You know better the killing, force marriage, under age marriage with old man, cutting of noses and ears, burning of women and etc by the Taliban and their affiliated people. Otherwise Islam order to equity among women and men!
The shelter which is running by the national organization and some international organization is completely running to the rue and regulation of the country accordingly, and fortunately better. But there is some element along with Karzai just they want that how to occupy the resources which have been using for women to solve their problems. Therefore, the Karzai and his lobbies launching the propaganda to take this shelters under the control of the government.
We Afghans all knows that what and in which part the government have done well since this ten years that all the international forces are helping us, most the money is gone to the individual, which spent by the government and we do not have any achievement that the government did that.
Just we have the big achievement from the Karzai (King of corruption) government one which is corruptions and the other big achievement which is the production of drug, all the areas which the brothers of Karzai are living there, are the red area of drugs smuggling, killing and suicide bombing then how we can believe on this type of person which is running the country that he can run the shelter through his affiliated and spoiled partialities.
I think they want through shelters teach the women, how to do suicide bombing and drugs business and etc.
From Kabul Afghanistan
PAMIRI YOU ARE PAID BY THE AMERICANS TO SPREAD THIS PROPAGANDA.
Women do not imitate us joining the military, this is a disguised patriotism.
My post was deleted, but when I talked about the "average brainwashed americans" and the "disgraced women inside the military" I was referring to PART of the american people. Women should not support violence against their gender outside of US committed by US military.
Oh ! !! A woman beaten by police ! So you killed so many women and children to make justice, right ??
We have a saying. I am sure you have heard it? Silence is golden......think about it:)
Teresa – I don't know what are you talking about. Do you approve violence against your gender ?
I don't think so. People love too much the war. After 10 minutes the marines will be bored.
Jim – I addressed the point, but I was insulted. I stated the shelter has become something bad for the women, so the government wants to take it over. I don't believe the american can do something good for the afghan women a part of killing them.
The main point is being avoided, the point of the article is ,....the government wanting to take control of the shelter.....not Islam , not war .....but women who are being abused , and needing somewhere safe to go , there are women's shelters in the US , the point of the article is ....women beaten by husbands , go to shelter, government wanting control of shelter, .....what would the outcome be??
Michel spoke about general antiamericanism, but my accuses are not general, they are specific. I pointed out the recent killing of women and children in the Kunar province by the US military.
Someone asked me what I do to help theos afghan women. Not much admidtely, I can just shetler one of them who lost their family or parents in my house, respecting her and her tradition.
I CHALLENGE CNN TO COLLABORATE: What are people criticizing me here doing ? Nothing. Just propahanda pro war.
Salerno, please go back to your cave! You are clearly either an idiot or on here just to annoy people...prob both! Go away and let the adults talk. You cannot blame everything on America...I realize its the popular thing to do, but America did not cut, torture and slash these women. Watch the video again and tell me what it has to do with the U.S. Then after you do that, take a long walk off a short pier. Jerk!
Elin – sorry I have no cave. You are laughable, as it is not popular to criticize America, if everyone is against me here with the excepption of Mohammad and few others. I accused US not for the 2 girl hurt in the video, but for the thousand of women they killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, you speak for 2 girls, without ginving them the chance to speak, I speak for the thousand who cannot as they are dead.
lol ok cause you gonna judge 1.7 Billion people on the events in three small towns in Afghanistan that NO ones knew they existed until sent soldiers there... Hmm
Wonder If we go to Southern Argentina "All Christians" by the way and see how they skin women feet to forgive their sins.... Then your hand would talk? but I'm not a person to judge based on religion.
Just because a bunch of idiots who so claim they are Muslim, These women are suffering but You hand should know that 🙂
WoW you are too good! SO righteous! ALL the press is bad but we just don't understand how perfect islam is.
islam is contemptible.
Mohammad – Bismillah, thank you for your intervebtion, I am not a good muslim, but I just try to point out that the war is wrong, and the americans killed so many women that their talking about human right is laughable.
They are full of hate.
Salerno, Salamon Alaykom
Mashallah brother going against 100 people at once.
I have to Say something to other people here, The crimes of Taliban committed against their people are not being disregarded! If you want to make a decision because of these actions then go look in Malt and Asian provinces that they are throwing pregnant women off cliffs to keep the tribe leaders wife's untouched. Now should I judge an entire country because of this and call Buddhism an evil religion??
So stop the muslim non-scene and if you really want to know this religon, you should read and get off news sites on the internet and Tv's that is controlled by Mass media to help brain wash you by a picture and direct you to where they want.
I also am a Convert. Mom was Jewish (converted to Christianity) and My dad was a Catholic Christian from Italy...
If islam wanted to truly win friends and convert people they would probably succeed if they teated ALL people with equality and kindness but they simply don't do that or even see the need. Using general anti Americanism as an excuse to mutilate and destroy women (a one on one act) is a bizarre mindset to say the least.
They should try to SET the standard rather than give cheap excuses for sloppy, cruel, callous behavior that is so subhuman as to be another form of obscenity. NO SYMPATHY. If this is the face islam wants to show the world they should not be surprised at the indifference (at best) it receives.
Again As I stated... Hope you read it before you replied. Do your research from Books and thousands of year research that has been done on all religions. No based on CNN's data.
I was convinced after being proved that this religion is not like the media says. I also was in the band wagon of haters and never bothered looking into the issues. So please unless you do this stop making judgments like "No Sympathy" cause I do have it for you...
When the mutilations and murders stop I might begin to listen and investigate. But until then talk to the hand.
Michele – I don't care if you try or not to investigate Islam, but women mutilations are forbidden in Islam, as well as tattos.
Women rights are stated in the islamic tradition and Mohammed was the first to give rights to the women. So if someone
hurt a woman must be ppunished. Just the americans are not punished when they kill women with missiles, as they ,hypocrites, claim it to be an mistake !!
Salerno, you are obviously a Man who thinks it's OK to stone women to death, beat them and marry off girls as young as 10 to old men and this is called your custom. Women in these Muslim countries should protest the dictators they have in their own homes. Maybe if these women had a voice there children wouldn't be brainwashed into blowing themselves up for no good reason. No one else should waste their time responding to you since you are obviously not on the side of HUMAN RIGHTS, Women are humans too by the way. I'm sure you have a mother don't you...
Save the Woman – you are the most idiot posting comments here. Don't call MY custom as I anm a white western born male, with a christian mother and an atheist father.
Last week 50 women and children were killed in the Kunar province by the US airstrikes, and we are still talking about an old story of mutilation just to cover a shamefull use of the women shelter by the US perverted soldiers.
Additionally, among the HUMAN RIGHTS one of the first is NOT TO BE BOMBED BY THE US MISSILES.
Well now, doesn't that give you a dandy excuse for cruelty and brutality behind closed doors? You are in such total denial.
Michele – few girls hurt by some criminals don't give to the american the right to fire missiles to the villages killing thousand of women and children!
I am tired to see all this propaganda for the war. This mutilated girl is used as a propagand tool. The thousands of women and children killed by the US bombings cannot speak, but I can speak for them.
Salerno-you poor misguided child. If u actually are speaking for these dead women and children, then maybe you would look for their family and friends and try to help them. Not arguing with whomever about the injustice of American bombings. Sure its bad. So why don't you get off your computer and do something about it.
Sara – and you, what are you doing ? Afghanistan is not a safe place right now because of US military presence. I have friends working there since before the last war.
American's didn't start the war in Afghanistan by the way. Did you forget about 9/11? So if we did decide to bomb the villages of those responsible then it would be justified. But we didn't. Our military is facing tough decisions to hold fire when your cowardly men strap women and children with bombs. If they are so certain they will go to paradise for killing innocent people then why don't they do it? I wish we could bring all of your women to the United States and leave the men in that godforsaken land to die off.
There is a government in Afghanistan. I don't like it because it was formed under the US control and violence, but they have their culture.
Absolutely astounding that the personal rights and safety of women and the DENIAL of necessary protections and rights could be twisted and perverted into an anti American agenda.
QUIT MAKING EXCUSES for cruelty. It does not matter what OTHERS are doing. Why not try the strange and unexpected path of being KIND to your own women.
QUIT MAKING EXCUSES for cruelty.
Nobody is making excuses. On the contrary I am accusing the americans too to mistreating women in their country and especially outside. The only agenda I can see is pro-war and pro-violence, YOU ARE MAKING EXCUSES for cruelty and war.
QUIT MAKING EXCUSES. Delaying simple kindness on a personal level because of what ANYBODY ELSE does or does not do IS AN EXCUSE for continuing your barbaric cruelty. Shut the f$%#@k up.
You have NO CREDIBILITY.
Micele – YOU MUST QUIT MAKING AN EXCUSE FOR KILLING WOMEN. I AM BLAMING ALL VIOLENCE INCLUDING THOSE CAUSED BY AMERICAN MISSILES.
In the Kunar province nearlly 50 women and children were killed last weak by the american airstrikes, and we are talking about a girl mutilated many years ago to cover some shameful and improper use of the women shelters by the american perverted soldiers.
QUIT MAKING EXCUSES. Delaying simple kindness on a personal level because of what ANYBODY ELSE does or does not do IS AN EXCUSE for continuing your barbaric cruelty. Shut the f$%#@k up.
Michele – You cannot accuse me of cruelty because I am not Taliban. I am accusing you and Americans of cruelty against women and human rights violation as they are killing right now women and children. I AM ACCUSING THE AMERICANS.
YOU CANNOT ACCUSE ME. UNDERSTOOD ??
ILL DIE FOR EVERY WOMEN I LOVE WOMEN
kILL ALL MEN FREE ALL WOMEN
to salerno pull u head out of some where will you
where will you .....?
@salerno and where do you receive the propaganda you're spewing
Jim – from CNN, US military, BBC, Sky, Al-Jazeera, Emergency aid workers, Wikileaks, my travels to middle east.
i feel bad for the girl with no nose! 🙁 Why has Iraq been fightinng SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long!??????????????????????????????????
maria – because in Iraq many people, even many women fought desperately against US soldiers. For them war was not an option, they were attacked.
Actually, this video isn’t about the influence of western culture on eastern women. It’s about women abuse and domestic violence in Afghanistan. The number of suffered women is terribly high. Government must do everything they can to stop this violence, but instead government is planning to take over women’s shelters. Salerno, no one think that Afghan women need to look at American women as a model. The question is why in Eastern countries the domestic violence rate is so high. May be it’s because of misunderstanding of Quran? In Quran there is no word that women should be so awfully oppressed and abused. It seems to me that men in Afghanistan, actually in all Middle East countries forget that women are humans too and that they also have feelings. Real man will never raise a hand against woman (it doesn’t depend on religion, culture, nationality and etc.).
Milya – I agree with you.
I want just to point out that I was responding to Heather who stated:"these women need a support system and a model for women around the world".
You are right about the Quran misunderstanding, and this is why I stated the muslim women rights must be found in the Quran, not in the western degraded culture.
to Mr salerno, what are you talking about, its been like this for 100s of yrs. half of my family is from Afghanistan: you know how the women free themself from crulty of the husbands; they put themself on fire: I feel sorry for men like you that close their eyes and disregard the crulty directed to wonem in afganetsan and other islamic country using the name of islam. I pray for you, maybe you will be saved one day.
Zahra – Afghanistan is a violent country for all the people including men. I have seen Taliban very kind with their women, it is not possible to generalize. Problem is the poverty too. Women in Afghanistan will always be living in poorer condition than in the west. I have european friends who worked in Afghanistan for many years, and they told me that most problems were caused by the US aggression, in terms of violence.
No; you have the WRONG info. Its been like this for yrs and yrs before American or what ever you call it. My grandmothers cusin put herself on fire : that was 80 yrs ago.
obviously you, salerno , are doing nothing to help them
What can I do ? I don't use violence but arguments.
They need support to stay away from these rude Taliban !!
II was only able to read two of these postings, before I couldn't read anymore. These women need a voice – ours. Violence against women, marrying young girls before they are ready, treating them like a doormat, a place where women have no rights, is unnacceptable. We need to think of them before ourselves. Won't you write to Amnesty International to help these women gain a voice to end the violence. That young woman who's nose and ears were cut off because she ran away from a man and his family who was abusing her, was violated in the worst sort of terms one can't even begin to imagine. The Taliban cut her face so she would not be attractive to another man. This is cruel and unusual punishment for a crime of trying to save herself. Please, write Amnesty International, give these women a voice heard across the world.
Instead of blaming, focus on sloving, open our minds to the idea that we may be wrong. Seeing a couple images of a fanatical act and judging the whole society it took place in is wrong. It would be like the east seeing the kkk and saying that sums up western christianity.. or the Rodeny king beatings and saying that's western justice.. realying on one souce of main stream american midea to fourm your opinions and then preaching them like youre an expert because you seen a news clip is irresponsible and naive, and helps no one.
Why are you arguing about the crime? The point isn't whether or not Americans are ushering in their ideology, or if Afgans theirs, but rather the point should be individual rights- which should be universal. It seems like these people don't have a choice. These women are abused because they don't/didn't conform. Those doing the abuse somehow feel they have the right to end a life or cause physical and sometimes permanent harm. Why not just separate yourself from that person without the violence?
The first human right is not be bombed by US military. Last week 50 women and children were killed by the US military missiles.
Qoran told us to do only good things, but those people who beat their wifes not in a right way as well.
It is wrong to think that muslim woman right, because they wear hidjab and pray 5 times. People might be good or bad, it doesn't depend on their nationality or culture, religious.
Their culture of blaming the victim (women) is the problem and now these women are rightfully afraid that their "Gov't" is going to reinforce the barbaric cultural practices of the monsters that abused them in the first place. BTW, you should assume where I or any other person who comments on these forums are from. You know nothing about me.
Did Western Culture chop off that woman's nose? Idiot.
