At least 26 civilians were killed in a suicide attack at the office of a district governor in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province Monday, officials said. Another 36 people were wounded.
The number of fatalities is expected to rise, said Mahboobullah Sayedi, the spokesman for the province's governor.
The attack took place in Imam Sahib district when people were lining up to collect identification cards from the governor's office, Sayedi said.
