1 still missing after seizure of mine removal team in Afghanistan

One man remains missing on Friday after armed gunmen kidnapped members of a landmine removal team in eastern Afghanistan the night before, a group official said.

The incident took place in Khost province.

Eleven people were seized by the gunmen, said Shah Wali Ayoubi, executive operation manager of the Mine Detection Center.

Ten of those taken were released later Thursday night but another, a driver, remained missing.

The 10 employees returned in good health, Ayoubi said. He also said the gunmen stole a truck filled with tools.
