Audit: Money spent by contractors unaccounted for

An audit has found that the U.S. government is doing a poor job of  accounting for billions of dollars spent by the contractors rebuilding Afghanistan.  This comes as the Afghan government is starting to phase out private security contractors in Afghanistan that are not involved in protecting diplomats and embassies.   FULL STORY

No way.....In isalm or any other religion ..no one can be real judge ..but only God himself. Human brains make wrong decisions when they are not agreeing with what Holy spirit says.

Come on! You don't loose track of $8B especially in a country like Afghanistan. There is a paper trail. There are only certain people who could have had control of that kind of cash. It's 8 Billion dollars folks. It winds up in a bank or banks somewhere not in a cave next to Bin Laden.

Nay Cebes, you don't understand. This is Afghanistan...there is no paper trail. Most of these contracts are paid for by certain soldiers who carry around a backpack full of cash. (issued by the Army) They make the deals with the Afghan crooks, (I mean Contractors) to build something, pay in cash & juggle the recipts to cover their butts in order to get anything done. The contractors take out their "cut" of the price, and everybody from the local governor & police chief to the local Taliban commander get their cut of the proffit. Materials & equipment are shuffled to make more proffit for everybody; everyone from the Afghan Army commanders to the Taliban are all part of the "Afghan Mafia" and everyone is in on the deal to get the American money. Most of the sub-standard materials are supplied by China. (Imadgine That) We started throwing money at them in 2003, so you see that they have had several years to polish their techniques. Just part of doing buisness in Afghanistan.

Why should this surprise anyone? The MIC(military-industrial-complex) in Washington has been operating crookedly for decades. As early as 1959,Pres.Eisenhower warned the public about it but very few listened!

It seems to me that the Afghan people themselves do not care so much about rebuilding Afghanistan. I guess they would rather have the Taliban in control and tell them how they should live instead of doing the right thing with the reconstruction aid we are giving them! Also we should be more concerned with who we hire as security contractors for the reason alone of what we saw with the CIA bombing!

Well anyway I have a good judgment of people and I did say that you are not doing God's will which is to love all people, you should acknowledge ones sin but as far as punishment if there should be some kind it should be left up to the courts and their rule of law and if they should not repent, then God's punishment would be sufficient! But as far as the Taliban's punishment for the sinner it is done for the hatred of the sinner which is against Jesus' teachings!

Courts of inhumane treatment of sinners! And let's not forget their involvement in the way people were educated or not educated at all if you were girl! Were not all young boys only taught in Madrassa's about sharia law and hatred for the infidel? Is this the kind of education that would help Afghanistan to become a civilized nation in the 21st century or would you rather go backwards in life to the time of the cave men?

In a Christian school we are taught to love one another, as for the Madrassa's are they not taught to hate the infidel and those who do not follow sharia law?

God has never abandoned anyone since he had it rain 40 days and nights! As a matter of fact he gave Himself as a sacrifice for all to be saved! And now you have proven to me how much of a liar you are when you want to call an Afghan tribe descendants of the people Israel! You are a self proclaiming, self righteous son of the devil!

They know exactly where it has gone – into the pockets of various warlords and corrupt pooliticians to buy their "cooperation". It's the asiatic form of redistributing the wealth – there is a very slight trickle down effect but mostly these tribal leaders keep it to maintain their position. It has always been this way and to expect different just because we are there is lunacy. They do not want to change. It's a shame but we will have to leave them behind as the rest of the world progresses and just prevent them from sending out terrorists into the world.
