NATO: Coalition service member killed

KABUL, Afghanistan  - A service member with the NATO-led force in Afghanistan was killed Friday by small-arms fire in southern Afghanistan, the military force said. The fatality occurred as part of Operation Moshtarak. The service member was not immediately identified, nor was any additional information provided.

    Ajmir,
It's very sad when you realize how many civilians die during war. The Afghan people have been living in fear for many years. Even worse is when the Taliban and Al Qaeda used Afghanistan as a training ground for a Jihad against the USA. The Afghan people were forced to ignore what was going on or they would watch their family members being slaughtered by these Terrorists. What’s even more unfortunate is that there is no end in sight for the gruesome fighting unless the Taliban drop their weapons.

Good point Ajmir, a group of thugs launched an attack on the World Trade Center towers, most of whom were from SAUDI ARABIA and many hundreds of thousands of Afghan, Iraq and Pakistani civilians have died in America's response. Nearly all of the civilians had literally nothing to do with attacking America, they and their countrys were highjacked by a gang of thugs.

I imagine if a gang of thugs in the US Pentagon decided China's show of force upon Taiwan warranted an attack on Chinese soil as is written in a archaic treaty America has with Taiwan, millions of American civilians would be slaughtered and killed that had literally nothing to do with attacking China, they were simply highjacked by a gang of military thugs.

I have always been amazed at the emphases put on propaganda and the importance it plays in how the world looks at situations. In world WWII leaflets were dropped and the infamous "Tokyo Rose" broadcast were measures use to demoralize troops and persuade world opinion. The North Vietnamese took it to new heights with their anti war campaigns which proved very successful by spawning the "peace movement" and turning American opinion around.
Today the terrorist have the best oiled propaganda machine ever in existence " The Media". It is quick to tell of one single loss of life and then quickly follow up with the statistics of all loss of life of friendly forces. The same headline will repeat it's self the next day if loss of life occurs again. While I agree any loss of life is a tragedy and any exploitation of it is sickening. I feel that the Media also should post the number of casualties that our military is inflicting. Right now the "enemy" has a one sided propaganda campaign that likes to parade the loss of life of our troops all other the world. I want the world to know that Taliban fighters are dying too and that our sons and daughters are making a difference and are supported. If the Afghanistan people see how great a loss of sons and daughters involved in military conflict they are losing, maybe there will be a peace movement in their country.
