Sources: Pakistani Taliban leader is dead

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) - Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud is dead, three Taliban sources said Tuesday.

Mehsud died near the city of Multan while on his way to a treatment center in Karachi, the sources said.

It was not immediately clear why he was going to the treatment center.

Authorities have been looking into reports that Mehsud died after being wounded last month in a drone attack.

Word of his death contradicts a statement by a Taliban spokesman last week that Mehsud was alive and in hiding.

Good riddance to this evil animal. The leadership is important and eliminating it severely hampers the Taliban.

Perhaps you cannot located the Hakimullah Meshud, because they have a large team in the south suburbs of chicago.. they as well as many others involved in this underground movement make it appear they are killed off BEFORE they start their operations in the USA.. I see ia small amount of federal involvemenet. I dont think the US govt expects the frequency or numbers of persons engaged in this on our homeland.

It is sad that these misguided men need to die. They could be building a free Afghanistan! By the way, who is the leader of Taliban in Marjah? Normally, in the history of warfare, it was known against whom an army was against. This is a vital necessity in case there need to be diplomatic overtures. The Taliban should announce who their commander in Marjah is, so that, if we lose the battle, we could negotiate with him a "peace at any price."

We win the battle, yet we lose the war.

We are good at the details, but we don't see the picture.

We are driven by vengeance and fear. It is our vengeance and fear that destroys us.

Once wealthy, now we borrow and burn.

Our tea party is war without tax, gain without pain, greed without consequence.

    Thus, our nation rots.

I'm sure the Taliban will replace him rather quickly, but still, it is always good to cut off the head of an enemy's major sub-organization. You just have to hope that all of the confusion created for the enemy allows the Western forces an advantage in intelligence. In addition, you can hope that the next leader is far less competent.

And just like weeds, 10 more Muslim leaders show up. No self-respecting gardener goes after a garden of weeds by attacking them one at a time and end up pollinating the garden with thousands of new weeds.

America from DAY ONE should have setup education centers for the Muslim women. Trained Muslim women in self-defense, armed the Muslim women and began adding them to military missions in Afghanistan, Iraq and ALL middle eastern areas where American soldiers are risking their lives fighting for Proxy nations in the Middle East and for Big Oil corporations here in America.

Only a Army of Muslim Women can absolutely defeat and destroy radical Islam. Only a Army of Muslim Women would fight absolutely to the death with the Taliban fighters.

It is utterly worthless and historically flawed for American troops to train Muslim men and equip them with American military weapons, when American troops leave that region, those same Muslim men nearly immediately pledge alligence to the Taliban and America ends up with more capable and better equipped enemy combatants.
