Mr. Oregon, with all due respect. I urge you to change the source from where you are learning history, especially about Islam. You have it completely wrong. It is true that Muslims used to raid on the caravans traveling through their areas but where you have it wrong is that reason behind it. I am sure, you never read in the history books about how the Muslims were forced to leave Makah by the non-Muslims after they persecuted them. Muslims had to leave behind their homes, wealth and all belongings and migrate to Madinah, 400 KM away. Now imagine if tomorrow you have to leave your home and you cannot take any belongings with you, how would you feel about that. It was only fair for Muslims to raid the caravans of Makkans to recover what they can from what the Makkans stole from the Muslims.

People everwhere need to wake up before it's too late. Today, it's Afganistan, tomorrow it will be here in the US. These are tactics from this gov't to kidnap individuals, torture them and do whatever else they please. Americans have a false sense of security, just wait until FEMA takes over this Country and the same remarks you're making about others will be your plight as well. Why do you think the US has their FEMA DEATH CAMPS in every single State in the Union. So wake up, YA BIG DOPES!!!

Long before Muhammad told the roving bands of cut-throats and thieves that kidnapping of infidels was OK by his 'god', that practice had long been in place. Ambushing the rich caravans traveling the silk and spice routes was Big Business. Little has changed, with the devaluation of currency, the main change has been the amount of money demanded by the Muslim kidnappers.
