6 die in suicide attack at Kandahar mosque

A suicide attack in a mosque where several high-ranking Afghan officials had gathered to remember President Hamid Karzai's half-brother killed at least six people and wounded 15 others Thursday, a hospital official said.

The attacker hid the explosive device under his turban and detonated it among a group of people who were reading the Quran at the Sera Jama Mosque, said Sher Shah Yousafzai, the police chief of Kandahar where the attack occurred.

The attendees were mourning Ahmed Wali Karzai, the Kandahar provincial council chief, who was killed Tuesday by a guard during a gathering at his house.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the Tuesday shooting, saying that the guard accused of killing him was working for them.

Karzai was buried Wednesday, with the president in attendance.

USA killed 6 civilians inside a houses, cowardly firing into the windows in the khost province. They target civlians, women and children as they are too coward to face the Taliban in the battlefield.

Quite true salerno, quite true. The troops today are not what they were like during WW2, fighting man to man like they did then. Then again, this stinking war is no good!!!

If the Taliban would stand up to them like a real army and not blend in with civilians they would be decimated! They often run and hide in the civilian population and cause civilian casualties! They are the cowards dressing in civilian clothing so as to look like civilians therefor they can claim to be civilian casualties and using civilian homes for their fight again causing civilian casualties! They propagate this war in order to turn the population against the coalition forces whereas the coalition are fighting for the afghan people to rid them of the Taliban's killing, torture and terror to regain power!

Taliban hit they enemy through ambushes as they are inferior for number and technology. USA always call even air support .
The USA are unable to face the Taliban. THE HOUSE WAS NOT USED TO FIGHT, EVEN THE SUSPECTED MEETING OF THE HAQQANI NETWARK WAS FALSE. NO INSURGENT INSIDE BUT ONLY CIVILIANS.
This is why I celebrate the killing of US-Nato soldiers as they are babykillers, not real fighters like the Taliban.

They always hide behind the population in civilian garb! They use suicide bombers to kill civilians and government officials who want to make Afghanistan a nation that is part of the world community and NOT A ROUGE NATION. They are NOT brave, but stupid if they think God stands with them! THEY ONLY DO THE WORK OF THE DEVIL as they are like him who fight for power! GOD WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL THEIR KILLING AND TERROR TO GAIN POWER!

Your are stupid if you want to compare the British with the Taliban! The Taliban are a terrorist organization that wants to oppress their people by subjecting them to cruel and unjust judgment whereas the British wanted to make America their own colony! We are not their to take control, but to help the people to be rid of the terror that the Taliban has brought upon the people and to hold them responsible of harboring terrorists! There is NO comparison!

Taliban are the opposite of the Nazi as they have not a racist ideology. Racist ideology is unknown ubside Islam, like even the 15 years old Nucular correctly stated. Racist ideology started wuth the Jews believing to be the choosen people by God and continued with the atheists and false christians with their ethnic cleansing around the world. Muslims never did something like ethnic cleansing. The only accusation was made about the Armenian killed by Turkey, but the country negated.

But this the rule in Afghanistan: if one thing goes wrong, another has to follow soon after. + Taliban laws are directed to avoid corruption inside the people. We are so oppressed in the west by moral deterioration in our custom and the women are an important factor in this process. They must be fairly treated and protected, but they need supervision, control and moderation.

There is education for girls, very better than that obscene western forced education. Bin Laden's last wife received a great education from Mullah Omar. Unfortunately it is not available for anyone, otherwise I would have contacted him to get a good wife.
What refrained me is the possibility to be involved in wars against the superpowers like Russia or USA. I am more like the oldest Osama wife who preferred a quite life.

There is a profound and substantive difference and you cannot dismiss it. Reading, writing, and at least simple arithmetic are missing from the primitive taliban "agenda." Learning these things cannot be dismissed as "western" and bad.
While the word algebra comes from the Arabic language (al-jabr, الجبر literally, restoration) and much of its methods from Arabic/Islamic mathematics, its roots can be traced to earlier traditions, which had a direct influence on Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī (c. 780–850). He later wrote The Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing, which established algebra as a mathematical discipline that is independent of geometry and arithmetic.

Islam is a complex reality. If you are looking for culture and education, Egypt is the brain. If you are focusing on the heart of Islam Arabia is the center.
If you are focusing with the spirit, Afghanistan is the spirit of Islam. Only UK moved 3 wars against Afghanistan and never succeded.

Well, I was in the area when it happened. It was an extremely sick incident and those present were lucky that the casualty toll wasn't higher. Security sucked at the entrance and that's the only reason they got anyone at all. President Karzai has pleaded openly to the people of Kandahar to stop the violence. These are Pashtun people doing this and the President Karzai is a Pashtun. The baddies are killing their own people for no reason at all. Muslims, "by law," are supposed to be a peaceful people. This is by far peaceful. And it's not because we are in Afghanistan, it's because these people that poorly follow the muslim religion will never accept a peaceful society
