Afghan policewoman challenges insurgents, prejudices

Each workday, Sgt. Pari Gul a mom-of three, stands guard at Kabul's East Gate Checkpoint. In a war torn country as religiously conservative as Afghanistan, her very presence is both a warning to militants and a provocation to hardliners.

Gul works the Pol-e-Chakhri checkpoint at the end of an 80-mile stretch that connects the capital to the largest city in the east, Jalalabad.

The road itself is treacherous, widely considered to be one of the most dangerous in the world.

Twisting mountain roads, deep ravines, no speed limits and military camps along the way are a recipe for terrible road accidents. It is also a route for insurgents crossing the border from Pakistan and heading for Kabul

Salerno, do you see what your people that you love so much will do to propagate their war? Yes they will move their fighters around women and children so that our forces would inadvertently kill them. These are some sick people!

Dan – It is not true. Taliban are very precise in their operations and kill only military. 8 americans saturday, another 7 including 2 german soldiers and several afghan policemen with one general.
On the contrary Nato helicopters targeted 2 civilian houses killing 10 children and 2 women. This is the balance for this weekend.

Well said, salerno. The NATO forces are no more the heroes that the Russians were the villains that the right-wing news media purported them to be back in the 1980's. How the right-wing press tries constantly to brainwash us by posting stories like the above. In truth, most Afghans don't and never did want foreign rule!!!

God and the animals that used these houses and the people in them for the purpose of a propaganda war knows! And God will hold them responsible!

Dan – Idiot, houses are used for living by families with children, not for propaganda. The cowards are unable to face the Taliban and retaliate against civilians. This is why I am happy when US soldiers are killed like yesterday.

Did it occur to you that we had followed these animals as they went into these houses for refuge and did not see them leave as they knew that we would bomb those places where they had no care for who was inside?

Anyway since the false prophet(also named bin Laden)is now chained in the core of the earth I do believe that we should let the ANA and Pakistan's army take over battling these Islamic extremists. They probably could finish the job if their true to their faith, that is if their faith is true to the LOVE OF GOD, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Thanks God, today other 3 Nato soldiers were killed. A little rebvenge for the crimes committed by the US forces against civilians.
Dan – Nobody thinks Bin Laden is a prophet. The prophecy cicle is closed with the Katam.

Unfortunately,we do understand your posts but some of are not dumb enough to fall for that right-wing mumbo-jumbo of yours. Once and for all,I want to reiterate the fact that we have no right to be in Afghanistan as they have no right to send troops to this country, which they don't!

Unharmed civilians are killed by US coward soldiers. I sow with my eyes that Libic insurgents are armed and have even some tanks and aircrafts. Even in Kosovo Al Qaeda was present and killing Serbs with weapons.

George Washington: "... forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric? - Address of George Washington, President of the United States . . . Preparatory to His Declination (Baltimore: George and Henry S. Keatinge), pp. 22-23. In his Farewell Address to the United States in 1796 (emphasis added)
