Eleven soldiers were killed Friday when about 150 militants fired at five security forces checkpoints in the northwest Pakistan tribal region, a government official said.
The attack injured 12 others, said Amjad Ali Khan, the government official in Mohmand Agency.
It happened in Mohmand Agency, one of seven districts bordering Afghanistan.
Twenty-four militants were killed, and the rest fled, said two military officials.
The officials asked not to be named because they are not authorized to speak to the media.
In a separate attack Friday, a roadside bomb blast killed a police officer and wounded three others in Quetta, police said.
The bomb - planted on bicycle - exploded when a patrolling police van was passing by, according to Malik Muhammad Iqbal, police chief of Baluchistan province.

I think a few of these countries like Pakistan and Afganistan need to shed some their own blood in a civil war like the USA did when the south wanted to have their own form of government that allowed slavery. When radicals have their own laws within a country the established government needs to lay down the law and force them to follow the laws of the land. We did it and it was necessary. You can't turn your back on problems for long or they get out of hand like they are today. I may be a Federalist, but someone must take charge and have a fair and equally applied law in their country. You can't have Sharia law in one area and government law in another area. Time to pay up!

I agree with you coprolito, but some Muslim clerics speak out against these terrorists, who happen to be anti-Christ, and tell them that they will go to hell for what they do. I think more would speak out but are afraid for their lives. This so called truth of 360 degrees is the name of the cult of the anti-Christ. Majority of Muslims have sympathy in some form towards world looking more like them.
